Le Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie. 12-15 June 2014
One of our leading timers and partners Quidchrono, secured the timing contract for this unique and exceptional 4day, 1000km road-bike event that raises funds for specific genetic research. The 1000km is divided in 13 splits with a spectacular finish at the Montreal Olympic stadium after 60h+ riding. A total of 1043 tags were registered, that were divided in to approximately 200 teams.
As part of IPICOSPORTS continuous product improvement and commitment to timer community and users, we tested a mini numberplate tag for mass cycling participation and a new 5m mat antenna configurations with zero dead zones that can allow the user to connect 2x 5m mats to a Lite or 4x 5m mats to an Elite. This event provided the all the extreme elements to officially test the numberplate tag as well as the new 5m mat layout. These conditions were constant rain, low temperatures and high wind factors.
