We believe the Power Tag will be the tag of choice for cycling, triathlon, mountain biking, skiing, and other high-speed sports. The battery operated ‘active’ tag provides superior read reliability. In addition, the award-winning Dual Frequency sports technology platform allows the tag cost to be considerably lower than its competitors.
The IPICO Sports Power Tag was developed under the direction of Marius Van Dyk, IPICO Sports Technical Director. He explained his team’s design intent, “We wanted to enhance the read reliability in multisport events but wanted to make sure that such a tag would be backward compatible with our existing mat and reader infrastructure. The Ipico Sports Power Tag can be used with existing mats and readers or with our new antenna form factor that doesn’t require the use of mats for events such as cycling and other events in difficult environments that include beach, snow, and water scenarios.”
“This new addition to the Ipico Sports lineup will give our timers the tools to time more events and broaden their individual business potential, “ states Gordon Westwater, Ipico Chief Executive Officer. “We are committed to developing additional tag form factors that maintain consistent quality read rates, all with our exciting reader infrastructure.”
The versatile Power Tag has a higher read reliability and read rate performance while accommodating speeds up to 70km/hr or 43.5mph with the correct read point setup. The Power Tag has a 3 year battery lifecycle upon activation.
