A 6-8 mile distance race is great.  A 10-12 mile event is even better! Continue reading

Profile of a Mob™-ster

After posting our introduction of Mob™ events, we began to wonder: who are these participants? The people who dress in costumes, crawl through mud pits, scale obstacles, run from zombies, and enjoy being covered in paint? What are these Mob-sters really all about? And we figured that event directors are probably asking the same questions. Continue reading

Top 7 Unique Technology Needs of Mob™ Events

Our GM of Sports, Eric McCue, said it best: “Mob events have sprung from the endurance market, but you can’t put them into those traditional run-bike-swim categories.

Ok, so Mob events march to the beat of their own drum. They attract different types of participants and are comprised of different elements. From an event management standpoint, there are also technology needs coming into play that aren’t necessarily a priority for more traditional endurance races. Continue reading

The popularity of Mob events is growing. For example, take a look at these stats from January- May 2011 versus January – May 2012: Continue reading
