The month of August means summertime is winding down, back-to-school season is here, and for many of us, the perfect time of year for triathlons is drawing near. While there’s a lot that goes into putting on an amazing event, you can’t deny the draw of location, location, location!
Already planning an event? Pictures can speak a thousand words, drive engagement, and help promote your unique race. Whether you’re posting to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other content marketing channels, pictures rule. Visual media drives more engagement, shares, and reaches a larger audience than text-only content.
Here are a few tips on gettin’ visual:
- Does your course have spectacular scenery? Show it off! Followers are likely to share captivating photographs, and that means free advertising for your event.
- Put the spotlight on participants and incorporate images from past events. A great way to get repeat-participants is to remind them how much fun they had at last year’s event.
- Encourage followers to submit their own photos. Try hosting a photo contest and ask followers to tag your event or use a hashtag.
- Put faces to your event and show off your personality! Post behind-the-scenes photos of volunteers, sneak peeks, and all the prep that goes into the big day.
Oh, and if you have any spectacular photos of your recent events, be sure and post them on our Facebook page at facebook.com/activeendurance.
