T-shirts, hats, keychains, coozies…what are you selling? Merchandise for your event is important for branding, it’s great memorabilia for participants, and it’s a hidden goldmine of revenue. So…are you maximizing the potential of your merch?
One surefire way to do that is to sell merchandise within the registration path. If you’re not doing that yet, it’s time to start (even if it’s just a pair of socks with your event logo on them!). This has proven to increase revenue for events of all sizes. A person registering is already excited about your event and has their credit card ready. It makes sense that they would want to check out some gear too!
If you’re an ACTIVE Works user, here’s some quick instructions on “How to Add Merchandise to the Registration Path.“
Just ask Electric Run about it. This event is what we call a Master Merchandiser. They have been extremely successful selling merchandise during registration, which has only strengthened their brand and the experience for participants. Here’s what Dan Hill, founder and CEO of Electric Run, had to say:
“Being able sell merchandise (glow lights, glow sticks, face paint, etc) within the registration path has been really incredible—we sell more through this channel than we do on event day. We want it to be easy for people to wear the glow gear because the more colorful and unique the event looks, the more it spreads virally.”
Watch the Electric Run video and notice how many people are wearing “glow gear”:
ACTIVE and Electric Run celebrated our first anniversary together this month, during which our technology platform supported more than 228,000 florescent-wearing participants in 38 domestic events. We are very excited to announce that we’ll be working with Electric Run to expand into more than 20 countries in major cities including, London, Dublin, Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, Tokyo and Dubai. We can’t wait to help take this immersive experience, and the glow sticks that come along with it, worldwide!
