Services like Facebook and Twitter have changed the way the world communicates and we are working hard to ensure we remain on the cutting edge of new technology.
We are building our presence on the social web in order to unite athletes, create engagement and provide the best source of endurance-related information found anywhere. In addition, we are growing our own sport-specific communities to provide participants with a resource to interact with others who share their passion.

|
Have you ever pulled a download only to realize that you received too much information? There are over 50 unique default fields to choose from in addition to the custom questions you may have created. Follow these easy steps and you will be able to pull the perfect Custom Download for your event!
Instructions to Download Registrations (Beta Version)
- Go to www.active.com/explorer.
- Type in your username and password, click log in.
- When the page refreshes go to the "Select Listing ->" drop down bar located in the top left - pull the bar down to select which listing you would like to access
- Select the “Registration Tools” folder on the bottom left side of the screen.
- Select the "Download Registrations (Beta)" tool.
- Click the "Build New Profile" button
- Double-click on each field you would like to have in your download. Make sure to scroll down to the very bottom of the list to choose any of the custom questions you have created for your event, such as t-shirt question, USAT member number, or merchandise purchase.
- Once you have all of the fields selected, click the "Next" button at bottom of page.
- You can further customize your download by editing the file headers and formats. Click the "Next" button at the bottom of the page when done.
- You can filter by a category or field by checking a box on the filter page. If you check any of the boxes, the system will provide a file that only contains records for those items selected. However, if you want everything, don't check anything. Click "Next" when done.
- Add a name in the "Save Profile As" so you can refer to it for future use. Click "Next".
- You will be able to download all records or filter the records by date, ID number or record number.
- At the bottom of the page, you will see an email field. The system will send an email to the email address in this field when your file is ready to be retrieved. By default the email address from your Active.com user account will be included in that field. You may change the email address, leave as is, or delete this if you do not want an email notification.
- Click the "Request Download" button
- You will be taken back to the main downloading page.
- Your download request will be available under the "Recent Download Requests" section on the "Download Registrations BETA" main page. The "status" column will show you the status of your download (pending, in progress, complete). Once the status states "complete" you will be able to download/retrieve this data.
- Click on the "Download" link to retrieve the file.
- If you opt to have an email sent, you will receive an email message confirming your download is being processed. You can then navigate back to the main download page to click on the "download" link to retrieve the file.

Making a Comeback to Active, Happy Living
Gary Westlund & Jeanne DeMartino Charities Challenge

|
The month following his first Total Hip Replacement in January 2003, American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Health Fitness Specialist Certified & USATF LII Certified Coach Gary Westlund founded Charities Challenge (CC), a 501(c)(3) organization and RRCA Member Club, with "Exercise as Medicine" or RxExercise as the mission and prime objective for all Charities Challenge's events.
Coincidentally, that same month of February, 2003, his long-time fellow multi-charities teams' coach, and inspiration for their first CC Event, the Challenge Cancer 5k, Coach Jeanne DeMartino, began her remarkably strong comeback from breast cancer.
In addition to having coached hundreds of marathoners to events around the world who raised nearly 2 million dollars for charities, Coach Gary and Jeanne also combined personal enjoyment of racing over 1000 events since 1989 until their health challenges slowed down their pace and distances. Now they deliver events that focused on exercise as medicine to thousands of athletes of all abilities, immediately benefiting lives and health through RxExercise.
"Winter 2003 was for us an inspired and personally challenging beginning for CC," says Gary. "But we found active support from many fellow athletes, several of whom still help us deliver RxExercise Events, and so many who are themselves health-challenged and inspiring."
CC now produces 23 Annual RxExercise-focused Events, all developed and delivered by volunteers. Here are a few of these great events:
| | |
 | | Challenge Cancer 5k – Celebrating Active Cancer Survivors where we honor active cancer survivors like Coach Jeanne and several active CC Friends |
| | |
 | | Challenge Arthritis 5k – Celebrating Strong Steps with Arthritis, and delivered that event within just 6 weeks |
| | |
 | | 6 x Challenge Life 5k Series where The Power of RxExercise is demonstrated in the lives of those who are living well beyond Arthritis, Cancer, Diabetes, Heart & Brain Injuries, Obesity and Aging. |
| | |
 | | 9 x Holiday Run Series, including the only Christmas Day road race in America. |
| | |
Charities Challenge also offers RxExercise Ambassadorship opportunities for athletes of all abilities to train, while CC helps them fundraise in order to send A-Teams to Great Ambassador Destination Events like marathons in San Francisco, Kauai, Mardi Gras, Dublin and Rome.
For more information about Charities Challenge please visit their website at http://charitieschallenge.org/. Make sure to check out the photo galleries showing what Coach Jeanne calls "Miles of Smiles" seen at every CC Event.

Expertise:
I work directly with clients in both the Registration Center and Active Giving Fundraising Module and ensure that their events are running smoothly and efficiently. I also help answer any concerns and questions as well as communicate new products and features. I spend a great deal of time working within the Active Giving center as many of my clients hold extremely large fundraisers.
What I like to do in my spare time:
Usually I just play soccer and run! I also really enjoy traveling and am hoping to make it back to Italy within the next year. I try to squeeze in a good movie/concert/delicious restaurant here and there and I have been known to spend entire days playing useless video games – like Rock Band.
