Adding an Additional Registration Category Price
|
 |
|
Does your event fee increase or decrease as the event date nears? You have the ability to specify the dates and times for when a category price should change and then Active will automatically update as necessary.
To add an additional price to a specific registration category, follow these simple steps:
- Go to www.active.com/explorer.
- Once you have selected your listing, you will see a set of yellow folders on the left-hand side of the page. Under the Registration Categories folder, you will see sub folders titled for each of your current categories.
- Click on the registration category that you would like to create an additional price for.
- Click Price/Close Dates.
- This page will now allow you to add a price for the chosen registration category.
- NOTE: if your registration close date has already passed, you must contact Active Client Support to reopen it.
- Click on "Add Price". (See screenshot #1)
- A second box will appear underneath titled Price 2. This is where the additional category price is added. Insert the second price and the date that on-line registration will close. Screenshot #2 shows that there will be $7.00 increase after Oct.20, 2008 until registration closes on November 1, 2008.
(Note: Price additions and changes have to be added manually for each registration category. These price changes are only applicable to event categories and not prices created in custom questions.)
- Once you are finished click Save Settings.

Santa Rosa’s First Marathon...
I am a 68-year-old ultra distance runner and marathon race director. During the last 32 years I have logged more than 150,000 training and racing miles. I have completed the marathon distance hundreds of times and have finished numerous 50 and 100 mile races. Last July, I completed the toughest footrace on the planet, the 135-mile Badwater Ultramarathon, for the twelfth consecutive time. Colorful stories and articles about my struggle and success in Badwater races may be found at www.CommitAndFinish.com.
Tell us about the Santa Rosa Marathon:
Santa Rosa, CA (my home town) has never had a marathon so I decided last year to stage an inaugural event. The goal was to promote a fun-filled, festive and quality community half and full marathon that would welcome walkers and runners of all abilities and loop the scenic Santa Rosa Creeks hard packed and paved pathway (no motorized vehicles) with its beautiful spanning trestle bridges, vineyards, horse ranches and wildlife filled ponds.
With only an idea, in the worst of economic times (there was no money, permits, sponsors, website, runners, course, etc.) and with the help of Marketing Director, Orhan Sarabi, we were able to fill all our limited running spots and produced a successful race. Each runner received an Adidas wicking technical T-shirt, a finisher medallion and an embroidered runners hat. And we were able to make a generous donation to our charities. Although I have never worked so hard in my life (made Badwater look like a walk in the park), the positive feedback made the effort worthwhile and we are now offering the second annual Santa Rosa Marathon on August 29, 2010.

I have been with Active for almost 2.5 years, providing aquatic programs with improved and exciting online registration systems that help streamline data management and increase club satisfaction. As a former collegiate swimmer, I'm incredibly passionate about growing Active's presence in the sport of swimming and making us the leader in technology solutions for all size programs! I have had the pleasure to attend multiple conferences around the country and present well over 250 webinars to prospective clients.
In my spare time I enjoy working out (swim, yoga and the gym). I'm always on the go, attending festivals/the arts, wine tasting in Temecula, shopping at boutiques, volunteering for the La Jolla Symphony and meeting up with friends. I am a beach girl - therefore in the summer you will find me surfing and swimming in the ocean. Recently I've become passionate about cooking, especially since my amazing boyfriend is a master at pastry making! I am the VP of the Villanova San Diego Alumni Chapter, and therefore excited for some great March Madness Basketball.
