Editing Registration Messages for Individual Categories
|
 |
|
Would you like to send out specific Confirmation Emails for each of your Registration Categories? If so, follow these steps:
- Go to www.active.com/explorer.
- Type in your username and password, click log in.
- When the page refreshes go to the “Select Listing ->” drop down bar located in the top left. Pull the bar down to select which listing you would like to access.
- Once you have selected a listing, you will see a set of yellow folders on the left hand side of the page; your registration categories will be listed under the Registration Categories folder. Select the appropriate category that you would like to add the custom registration message to.
- Select the Customize Options tool.
Click on image to see full size
- The page to the right will refresh and you will see many customization options for this category. You will now be able to edit the Registration Confirmation (the Web page that is displayed once the registrant for this category has successfully registered for the event) or the Email Confirmation (the email that will be sent to the registrant for this category after they have successfully registered).
Items to note:
- If you have multiple categories, this message will only be sent to the individual category that you are editing. If you have multiple messages, you will need to put an individual message into all of the necessary categories.
- This message will override the standard Registration Messages (see below).

Pittsburgh Marathon
Patrice Matamoros
|
 |
|
After donating 10 years of service planning various charity events, Patrice created a running program for students at local elementary schools. It was then that she was approached by a parent, Michele, who had developed Lymphoma while trying to restore the Pittsburgh Marathon. Impressed by her tenacity, Patrice stepped in to help. Within a matter of days, she went from a full-time volunteer to becoming the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Race Director! Along with the help and guidance of Michele, Patrice leads a passionate and dedicated team that includes Peter McGinty, operations director; Gary Brown, technical director; Dee Stathis, director of communication; Adriane Deithorne, director of sponsorships and foundation development; Karen Fredette, PR consultant; Kacey Byrnehouser, event coordinator; Luke Mohammed and Ashley Ardinger, interns; and a team of “amazing, selfless volunteers”.
The Pittsburgh Marathon once reigned as one of the top marathons in the U.S. and served as the host site to the Olympic Trials and National Championships. After a five year lapse, the marathon was brought back to life in 2009 through the generous sponsorships of Dick’s Sporting Goods and Philips Respironics, among others. The registration outcome for 2009 claimed the most registrants in the 20-year history of the Pittsburgh Marathon, with 10,500 runners in all events.
“I feel very grateful, particularly in today’s economy, to have the support of top-tier sponsors. Our charity partners have been especially incredible, as we see how the ordinary person does something extraordinary for the benefit of others. Last year, over $252,000 was raised by charity runners and we hope to build on that in 2010 to make it even more beneficial. The participants and volunteers are icing on the cake. Our participants are extremely important to us and we want them to have the best marathon experience ever. Our volunteers often say that they are the ones who benefit the most by the kind gestures of our runners. There is nothing better than seeing a smiling volunteer who is happy to serve others! And last but not least, I’m grateful to Active’s team for its support and enthusiastic help whenever I need it!”

Shannon Stewart Sales Manager, Swim and Tennis
|

|
Expertise:
I am responsible for managing the Endurance, Swim and Tennis Team here at The Active Network. We work with clients that are new to The Active Network and our goal is to understand how we can assist them with improving the operations of the event they are hosting or the club or facility that they run. We offer a portfolio of solutions, from online registration to website management, and online fundraising to volunteer management.
What I like to do in my spare time:
I am currently hooked on pilates and yoga and practice both 4-5 times per week. I enjoy movies, books, natural healing stuff (I’m a vitamin/herb junkie), live music and cooking. I love fine dining and am always anxious to try new restaurants in and around San Diego. I travel as often as I can and am usually planning my next trip just as soon as I return from one. I go to the beach almost every weekend because I have a dog that must get her weekly dose of salt water. I love using technology to organize and simplify my life, so I am always up to date on what is new. Last but not least, I enjoy working at The Active Network because it is a great marriage of working with technology and working with people that enjoy living an active lifestyle.
